Tymake · last updated 2 September 2026

Tymake records how working time is spent, so that hours can be verified. This page says exactly what is recorded, what is not, who can see it, and how long it is kept. It is written to be checked against the product rather than taken on trust — every claim below corresponds to something you can see in the app.

Who runs this

Tymake is made by Symake Solutions Private Limited and is operated by the organisation that issued your account. Your activity data stays on the server that organisation controls. It is not sent to a third-party analytics service or to any advertising network — there is no such transfer anywhere in the product.

What is recorded

Only while you are clocked in.

WhatDetail
The application in front Its name and window title, with the start and end time.
The website you are on The domain only — for example github.com. Never the full address, never the page contents, never anything you type into it.
Whether there was input That the keyboard or mouse was used, and how long since the last time. Not which keys. There is no keystroke capture in this product.
Screenshots If your organisation has enabled them: periodic captures of the screen at irregular intervals.
Your working day When you clocked in, took a break, and finished.
The machine Hostname, operating system and version, and the app version — so that a problem can be traced to a device.

What is never recorded

  • Keystrokes. Nothing you type is captured, anywhere, ever.
  • Full web addresses or page contents. Only the domain.
  • Anything after you press Finish, or during a break. Not screenshots, not applications, not time.
  • Anything while the app is not running. It cannot record a machine it is not on.
  • Personal files, documents, email contents, or messages. Tymake does not read them.
  • Your location. No GPS, no IP geolocation.
  • The camera or microphone. Never accessed.

Screenshots are skipped when the screen is sensitive

If a password manager, credential prompt, banking page or private browsing window is in front, the capture is skipped entirely — not taken and blurred, not taken and deleted. No image exists.

This applies regardless of any other setting, and covers 1Password, Bitwarden, KeePass, LastPass, Dashlane, authenticator apps, net banking and incognito windows.

Window titles can be redacted

A window title can say more than the application name does. Your administrator can set patterns so that matching titles are stored as [redacted] at the moment they arrive — the application is recorded, the title is not.

Who can see it

WhoSees
YouYour own time, applications, websites and screenshots — before anybody else does.
Your managerThe people who report to them, if the administrator has granted it.
AdministratorsEveryone in the organisation.
Anyone elseNobody. Not other employees, not other teams, not Tymake.

What each role can see is configurable, visible to administrators in Settings, and enforced by the server rather than by hiding buttons.

How long it is kept

  • Screenshots: 365 days by default, then permanently deleted.
  • Activity records: 365 days by default, then permanently deleted.
  • Daily totals: kept longer, because hours may be needed for payroll or a dispute after the detail has gone.

Your administrator can shorten these periods. Deletion is permanent.

Where it is stored, and how it is protected

  • On servers operated by the organisation that runs Tymake for you.
  • Transmitted over HTTPS.
  • Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, never in a readable form.
  • Access is authenticated and scoped by role on every request.
  • Administrative changes — including changes to who can see what — are recorded in an audit log with the old and new values.

Your rights

  • See your own data. Sign in at any time. You do not need to ask.
  • Ask for a correction. Time entered by hand can be reviewed and adjusted by your administrator.
  • Ask what is held about you, and for how long.
  • Raise a concern using the contact below.

Tymake is used in an employment context, and some records are kept because they are needed to run payroll and to answer questions about hours worked. Where that applies, a deletion request may not be something your employer can grant in full — they will tell you which records those are and why.

Turning it off

Pressing Finish stops recording immediately. Closing the application window stops it too. Nothing is recorded again until you start it yourself.
